Friends

We stayed with our friends, the Roaches, for 2 nights.  It was SO MUCH FUN.  The first night Claire made a delicious dinner for us & we enjoyed playing games with their family just like we used to in Germany when we were stationed there together.  That first night it snowed buckets.  My kids were thrilled.  Trek & I got up at 4am & drove to the temple (in ice & snow) to get there for the 6 am session.  When we got there the gates were closed.  I guess the Washington DC Temple doesn't open until 10am.  ha ha ha.  We took a nice long nap in the van & went to the 10 am session.  Then we drove back & spent the day in the snow with the kids.  

That night we drove to the Pizza Hut & met several of our friends there.  We've been stationed all over the world with the military & for some reason a LOT (like 10 families) are all stationed at Ft. Meade, MD.  Four of the families we knew met us for dinner & we had a blast talking about old times in Germany & also in Monterey, CA.  It was really fun.  The next morning I had another one of my friends stop by Claire's house to say hello too.  It was great seeing all my friends again.

We've decided to make this a regular thing.  Every 2 months we're going to try to go up there & do temple sessions with everyone, then all go out to dinner together, & then have a game night.  SO MUCH FUN.
